“I have been asked what I mean by ‘word of honor.’ I will tell you: Place me behind prison walls- walls of stone ever so high, ever do thick, reaching ever so far into the ground- there is a possibility that in some way or another I might be able to escape; but stand me on the floor and draw a chalk line around me and have me give my word of honor never to cross it. Can I get out of that circle? No, never! I’d die first.”
Karl G. Maeser
This is a good quote because it basically tells us as people that we shouldn't be breaking our word
because if you do you are considered dirty and a CTW person. You shouldn’t give your word on something if you know that you will not follow through with it. Like if you give your word to give up hot cheetos because you want to have a stable diet and maintain a healthy body and then the next day eat like 5 bags of hot cheetos and say ‘No I’m going to start my word until next week’ and so the next week comes and you keep on breaking it. This shows that you cannot be trusted with your word because you break it or you get distracted easily. Just like with the example of the hot cheeto, you forget and you seem to use that as an excuse to continue to not go on your word. Your word of honor can determine if you are either trustworthy or not.
