Duties and responsibilities: A cardiologist is a doctor who specializes in blood vessels of the heart and the cardiovascular system. Conditions that are treated by cardiologist include heart attacks, heart murmurs, and coronary heart disease and hypertension. Cardiologists practice preventative medicine, diagnose and treat heart disease, and may also perform some minor surgical procedures

Education: medical school (4 years), internal medicine residency (3 years), cardiology fellowship (2-3 years), state license required
